Eat better, Sleep better



The foods we eat have a significant impact on what happens inside our bodies. Many of us do not consume a lot of water, but it is critical that we get some water in our system.

So go drink water, make it a goal!

Importance of water



Water helps delivers the nutrients from our food to our organs. This amazing crystal-clear drink regulates our body temperature and protects our body!



Balance



With this, we need to make sure we are incorporating the five food groups into our meals so that way we get all the nutrients we need in our body.



The five food groups



We need fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy. All of these food groups provide nutrients that help promote healthy sleep, such as vitamin B12.



You should consume at least five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. They contain important vitamins and minerals that aid in disease prevention, such as fiber, which can keep the digestive tract healthy, and improve digestion.



Fruits and Veggies portion sizes:



1 apple, banana, orange or other similar sized fruit


2 plums or similar sized fruit


Half a grapefruit or avocado


1 slice of large fruit like melon or pineapple






Friendly Reminder



Drink 6-8 glasses of fluid per day to help keep your body hydrated.


Dairy contains calcium, which aids in the health and strength of our bones.



Semi-skimmed, skimmed, and 1% fat milk all have less fat than full-fat milk while still supplying protein, vitamins, and calcium.




Things to try:



- Starting your day with a wholegrain breakfast cereal


- Having a sandwich made with whole wheat bread for lunch


- Including potatoes, pasta or rice with your evening meal.
