Finding motivation to do school work

Finding a reason to do your school work can be hard sometimes. Why do we even need to do this? How is this going to benefit us?

Although school may not be "everything", it is still important for you to get it done. One thing to remember is that it will not take too long, depending on the work, a few assignments will not take the entire month to complete.

*Especially homework, one-page assignments, or short activities.

Motivation

After you complete an assignment, you feel accomplished, and some of us even feel motivated to continue onto the rest.

The hardest part to getting to that point is starting your work. No one is going to do it for you, so you have to get it done. We all have different reasons why we want to get our work done, the one obvious reason being is to excel in school.

Other reasons include:

1. To hang out with friends

2. To have time to play games

3. To feel accomplished

4. To keep track with your schedule

5. To have time to study

6. To have family time

After you find your motivation, be sure to place yourself in an area with no distractions!

This includes away from your smartphone, tablet, tv, and any other device that will distract you.

If your area is loud, ask for the individuals in your house to kindly quiet down.

Everyone has a different way of studying and completing school work, so figure out what works best for you. We may find this a boring chore, but it is actually very rewarding!

Pro tip: Keeping track of time will be easier if you keep a countdown timer near you.

Write down what you have to do, and guesstimate how much time each assignment or part of an assignment will take.

After this, break apart what you will do first, second, third, and so on and so forth.

Recommended: Prioritize your assignments based off of due date and importance, you want to be sure you are working diligently and being proactive!

In some cases, people like to begin with the assignment that will take the least amount of time, and then complete the assignment(s) that will take a little longer.

Pro tip: Some people like to switch the order, do whatever works best for you! Just be sure you are accomplishing what you need to accomplish, everyone works differently.

Remember friends:
Go at your own pace, remember that school is not forever, so do not be so hard on yourself! Be flexible with your time management, and do not overwork yourself.

Your grades do not define you.
You are a wonderful human being.

We are proud of you for making it to where you are today, your hard work does not go unnoticed.
