Peer Pressure

Some of our friends or colleagues make poor decisions. It is never acceptable to do or say something simply because someone asks you to.

Never fall for any of it, practice saying "No", these are one of the most powerful sayings you can carry with you all throughout your life, trust, you're going to need it.

Dangers of peer pressure

You must act as your own leader; doing something simply because someone tells you to is not always safe or enjoyable. This is why it is critical to find true friends. You can get seriously hurt. Listen to your gut whenever something is off and distance yourself from friends that do not look out for your safety.

Why this happens.

Followers

Based off who your friends are, some people may look up to a person and mimic them. This is often common in kids and teens who are struggling to find their own identity.

Validation

Simply stated, some of us fear of not fitting in. There is a crave in validation from others and a crave for praise whenever you follow through with an act that a friend or group wants you to do.

Outcome

Participating in harmful acts just to follow along with the group is not worth it. At the end, you may come across a bad outcome, and it can jeopardize your friendships, bonds, and school work..

Never accept anything that makes you uncomfortable, and never go down a destructive path. One thing can lead to another, and you can avoid this by speaking up or learning to say "No."

If you are afraid of speaking up due to the risk of your own safety, please contact a trusted adult to help you.

Keep up the good work, we are so proud of you!
